Aluminum Spark Plug Cover – Engine Harness Cover for the Engine Housing, Aluminum Alloy, With or Without Holes, Blue, Red or Silver
Aluminum Spark Plug Cover for the Engine Harness – With or Without Holes
This aluminum spark plug cover is a ribbed trim plate that bolts onto the top of a four-cylinder engine housing, over the row of spark plug wells where the ignition harness runs. It is made from aluminum alloy, measures 36.5 cm long by 5.3 cm wide in the supplier's dimension photo, and comes in blue, red or silver, each with or without holes. Easy Life Markets sells it as a single piece for owners who want to tidy up the centre of the valve cover or replace a faded or missing plastic one.
The supplier's own name for the part is an engine harness cover for the engine housing, and its packing list simply says "Hood x 1". The product photos make its purpose clearer. One shows the silver version with holes fitted in the recess along the middle of a four-cylinder valve cover, with one opening above each plug well. On engines laid out this way the plug leads or coils drop down through that channel to reach each spark plug, and the cover closes the channel over them.

With Holes or Without?
This is the choice that matters most, so it is worth a minute.
With holes. There are four round openings, each about 2.3 cm across, one above each plug position. Choose this style if something has to pass up through the cover on your engine, such as plug leads coming out of the top of the valve cover. The installed photo shows this version.
Without holes. The top face is solid, with the same ribbed pattern running the full length. Choose this style only if nothing needs to come through the cover on your setup, for example where the leads or coil wiring leave from the end of the channel. If you fit a solid cover and your leads need to exit upward, it will not go on.
If you are not sure which way your leads run, lift your current cover and look before you order.
Checking It Will Fit Your Engine
The supplier does not name a vehicle or an engine for this part. That is a real limitation, and we would rather tell you than guess. The cover is shaped for one particular four-cylinder valve cover, so please measure yours first:
- Measure the recess in your valve cover from end to end. The new part is 36.5 cm long and 5.3 cm across the main strip.
- Count and locate the mounting points. This cover has four tabs, two on each side, arranged in two pairs along its length. Compare their positions with the bolt holes on your engine.
- Check the plug spacing. On the with-hole version, the four openings need to line up with your plug wells.
- Compare with the photos. Lay your old cover next to the dimension picture and check the outline, including the shape of each end.
If you send your measurements and a photo of your valve cover through our contact page, we will compare them with the supplier's pictures for you.
Fitting It
- Work on a cold engine. Aluminum and valve covers both hold heat for a long time.
- If you are fitting the with-hole version, label each plug lead before you pull it so the firing order stays right, then feed the leads through the matching holes.
- Wipe the recess clean so grit is not trapped under the new cover.
- Start all four bolts by hand before tightening any of them. Tighten them gently and evenly. These are small fasteners into a valve cover, and they do not need much force.
- Check that no lead is pinched under an edge before you start the engine.
No special tools are needed. If your leads or coils are awkward to remove, a mechanic can swap the cover in a few minutes during a service.
Looking After the Finish
Wash the cover with a mild car shampoo or a damp cloth. Avoid strong alkaline degreasers and acidic wheel cleaners, which can dull a coloured finish on aluminum. Keep brake fluid off it, and wipe oil spills away when you top up, since the oil filler usually sits close by.
Who Buys This Cover
Owners building a tidy engine bay who want a colour-matched detail on the valve cover, people whose original plastic cover has cracked or gone missing, and workshops that dress engines for customers. It is a cosmetic and protective cover. It does not change how the engine runs.
Common Questions
Which engine is it made for? The supplier does not say. Please use the 36.5 cm by 5.3 cm measurements and the four-tab layout to check against your own valve cover.
Is it a genuine part from a vehicle maker? No. It is an unbranded aftermarket cover.
Are bolts included? They are not listed. The supplier's packing list shows the cover only.
