Bean Bag Chair – Teardrop Lazy Sofa in Striped Fabric, Four Sizes

This bean bag chair is a soft teardrop-shaped seat in a ribbed, striped woven fabric, with a fabric carry loop at the top. It comes in four sizes, from a Medium about 80 cm wide to a Supersize about 120 cm wide, and in six colours plus two Extra large sets. Easy Life Markets sells it for bedrooms, reading corners and anywhere you want a low, relaxed seat.

The supplier calls it a lazy sofa, and that sums it up. There is no frame. You drop into it and it shapes itself around you. The tall back of the teardrop supports your shoulders and the lower front becomes a seat. The loop on top lets you drag it to another room or stand it up out of the way.

What You Get

The supplier's packing list is one lazy couch. The two Grey crane sets add extras, as explained below. The supplier does not say whether the filling is included, what it is made of, or whether the cover comes off. Please ask us before ordering if you need those answers.

Sizes

These figures come from the supplier's size chart. The chart measures height with the bag lifted upright and width with someone sitting in it, and the supplier notes that the soft shape means some variation.

Size option Height (cm) Width (cm) Approx. inches (H × W)
Medium size 90 80 35.4 × 31.5
Large size 110 90 43.3 × 35.4
Extra large 120 100 47.2 × 39.4
Supersize 120 120 47.2 × 47.2

The written text also gives "Large size 90 × 110 cm", which matches the chart.

The Colours and Sets Explained

The colour names are direct translations from the supplier and do not describe the shades well. The photos show a blue-grey, a sand beige, a warm grey, a dark brown stripe, a charcoal and a terracotta red. The supplier does not say which name goes with which photo. Danfeng means red maple, so we expect that to be the terracotta, and Grey crane is labelled in one photo as the grey option. For the others, ask us and we will check before you order.

The supplier's photos show the Extra large Grey crane bag with a brown throw blanket marked 200 × 230 cm, and in another image with that blanket and a grey tasselled cushion. We read Set A as the bag with the blanket and Set B as the bag with blanket and cushion. The supplier does not confirm this in writing, so check with us first.

A Straight Answer on the Details

  • Filling. Nothing in the supplier data says whether the bag arrives filled. Some lazy sofas ship as empty covers. Ask us before you buy.
  • "Tatami" and "recliner". The original title used both words. This is a floor-level bean bag. It does not recline mechanically and it is not a tatami mat.
  • Extras in the photos. Side tables, lamps, rugs and the cushion in the main room photo are styling only, except where the Set options say otherwise.
  • Size descriptions. The supplier's text mentions pillows and footrests next to the sizes. The size options themselves are just Medium, Large, Extra large and Supersize.
  • Not stated: Fabric composition, filling type and weight, whether the cover is removable or washable, and package size.

About Bean Bags

The bean bag chair appeared in the late 1960s as a cheap, light and informal alternative to the armchair. The idea has not changed much since: a strong outer cover, a loose filling of small beads or foam, and no frame at all. That is why they are easy to move, safe for children to flop into and comfortable in a way that adapts to whoever sits in them. Over time the filling compresses, and most bags need topping up now and then.

Choosing a Size

  • Medium suits a child, or an adult who wants a compact seat for a small bedroom.
  • Large is a comfortable single seat for most adults.
  • Extra large gives a taller back for leaning against while reading or gaming.
  • Supersize is as wide as it is tall and lets you curl up or sprawl.

Care

  • Plump and shake the bag regularly to spread the filling evenly.
  • Brush or vacuum the fabric to remove dust and crumbs.
  • Spot clean marks with a damp cloth and mild soap.
  • Keep it away from fires, heaters and sharp objects.
  • Do not let small children open any zip. Loose beads are a choking hazard.

Who It Suits

Bedrooms, teenagers' rooms, games corners, reading nooks and small flats where a full armchair would take too much space.
