Modular Sofa Section – Tufted Fabric Module with Birch Frame, Arm, Armless or Footstool
Modular Sofa Section – Tufted Fabric Module on a Birch Frame, Sold Piece by Piece
This modular sofa section is one deeply tufted, rounded fabric seat block that you combine with other blocks to build a sofa in the shape your room needs. Each piece has a birch wood frame and a high-density sponge filling, and the fabric cover can be taken off and washed, according to the supplier. Easy Life Markets sells five pieces separately: a seat with a left arm, a seat with a right arm, an armless seat, a large footstool and a small footstool.
The supplier's photos show the pieces in a soft cream fabric with plump, pillow-like rolls, set up as a long three-seater with a footstool in front, and as a large U-shaped lounge in a mix of cream and sage green modules around a coffee table. Because every block stands on its own, you can start with two seats and a footstool and add more later, or split a big sofa into two smaller ones when you move house.
The Five Pieces
| Option | What it is | Size from supplier photos |
|---|---|---|
| Left armrest | Seat with a back roll and an arm roll on the left | 96 × 96 × 65 cm (37.8 × 37.8 × 25.6 in) |
| Right armrest | Seat with a back roll and an arm roll on the right | 96 × 96 × 65 cm (37.8 × 37.8 × 25.6 in) |
| Without handrail | Armless seat with a back roll | 96 × 96 × 65 cm (37.8 × 37.8 × 25.6 in) |
| Large stool | Square tufted footstool, no back | Not stated |
| Small footstool | Smaller tufted footstool, no back | Not stated |
Each option is one piece. To build a three-seat sofa you would order a left armrest, an armless seat and a right armrest. Add a large stool in front to make a chaise.

A Straight Answer on the Details
- Colour. The options do not include a colour. Most photos show cream, and one room photo also shows sage green modules. We expect cream unless you agree otherwise with us. Ask us before ordering if colour matters.
- Combined width. One supplier photo marks a three-piece sofa as 258 cm wide, while each piece is marked 96 cm wide. Three 96 cm pieces would come to 288 cm. We cannot tell which figure is right, so allow for the larger one.
- Footstool sizes. The supplier gives no measurements for the large and small footstools.
- Joining the pieces. The supplier does not say whether the pieces lock together. Loose modules can drift apart on a smooth floor. A rug or furniture grips under the pieces help.
- Washable cover. The supplier says the covers come off for washing but gives no washing temperature. Test a hidden area first and wash gently.
- Design note. This rolled, tufted module style is widely made by many factories. We sell it as a generic modular design, not as any designer's original piece.
- Not stated: Fabric composition, seat height, seat depth, footstool sizes, piece weight, the old title's "balcony" reference and whether the pieces connect.
About the Frame
The supplier names birch as the frame wood. Birch is a pale, close-grained hardwood that is widely used for furniture frames and plywood because it is strong for its weight and holds screws well. It is hidden inside the upholstery here, so you will not see it.
Planning Your Layout
- Two-seater: left armrest plus right armrest.
- Three-seater: left armrest, armless seat and right armrest.
- Chaise sofa: any three-seater plus a large stool in front of one end.
- Corner or U-shape: extra armless seats on the corners, as in the supplier's room photo.
Each seat is close to a metre square, so mark the layout on the floor with tape before you order. Remember that the modular sofa section has to pass through doors and up stairs one piece at a time, which is easier than with a one-piece sofa.
Before You Order
- Count the pieces you need and add up the prices for the full layout.
- Order every piece at the same time so the fabric comes from the same batch and matches in shade.
- Measure doorways. Each piece is about 96 cm in two directions, so it should pass through a standard door turned on its side.
- Check the seat height suits you. Low, deep seats are made for lounging.
Care
- Vacuum the tufts regularly with a soft brush head.
- Blot spills at once. Do not rub.
- Rotate pieces from time to time so they wear evenly.
- Keep pale fabric out of strong direct sunlight.
Who It Suits
Open-plan living rooms, families who like to lounge, renters who move often and anyone who wants a sofa they can rearrange.
