SDH150 Cylinder Kit for SDH150-A, SDH150-B and SDH150-C Engines

This SDH150 cylinder kit is a top-end rebuild set for 150cc motorcycles that use the SDH150-A, SDH150-B or SDH150-C engine designation. It brings together the main parts you need when the cylinder wall is worn or scored: an air-cooled cylinder with its sleeve, a piston, piston rings, a piston pin and the cylinder gaskets. The listed bore is 57.3 mm. Easy Life Markets sells the kit as a single set, so you are not hunting for a piston in one place and gaskets in another.

The SDH prefix is the model code used on Sundiro Honda motorcycles, and you will usually find the full code stamped on the frame or printed on the vehicle's registration and spec plate. If your bike carries one of the three SDH150 codes above, this is the kit it was listed for.

Why Riders Replace the Whole Cylinder Kit

On a small air-cooled single, the cylinder and piston do most of the hard work, and they wear together. Common signs that the top end needs attention include:

  • Blue smoke from the exhaust, especially on start-up or when you roll off the throttle
  • Oil consumption between changes
  • Low compression, hard starting or a loss of pulling power
  • A piston slap or rattling noise from the top of the engine
  • Visible scoring on the cylinder wall once the head is off

When the bore is worn, putting new rings into the old cylinder often does not seal properly. Fitting a new cylinder and matching piston at the same time gives you fresh, correctly sized surfaces that are meant to work together. Adding new gaskets while the engine is open is simply good practice, because reused gaskets are a common source of leaks.

What the SDH150 Cylinder Kit Includes

The kit covers the parts named in the listing:

  • Cylinder with sleeve (air-cooled, finned barrel)
  • Piston
  • Piston rings
  • Piston pin (14 mm)
  • Cylinder gaskets

The product photos show the set as it arrives. Use them to check each part against your engine before you start the job.

How to Confirm This Is the Right Kit

A lot of 150cc engines look alike from the outside, so it pays to check a few measurements before you order an SDH150 cylinder kit. Here is what we suggest:

  1. Check your model code. Look for SDH150-A, SDH150-B or SDH150-C on the frame, spec plate or registration papers.
  2. Measure the bore. Standard bore on this kit is 57.3 mm. If your engine has been bored oversize before, a standard-size piston will not be the right fit.
  3. Check the piston pin. The pin in this kit is 14 mm. Measure the pin on your old piston, or the small end of the connecting rod.
  4. Compare the cylinder height. The end height of this cylinder is 62.3 mm. Measure your old barrel from the base gasket face to the head gasket face.
  5. Compare the bolt pattern and cam chain tunnel. Line up the photos with your old cylinder. Stud positions and the chain tunnel should match.

If all of that lines up, you can order with confidence. If one measurement is off, stop and ask us before buying.

Installation Notes

Replacing a cylinder kit is a job a confident home mechanic can do with basic hand tools, a torque wrench and a service manual for the bike. A few points that make it go smoothly:

  • Clean every gasket surface completely before fitting the new gaskets.
  • Check the ring gaps and fit the piston rings in the correct grooves, with the markings facing up and the gaps staggered.
  • Make sure the piston pin clips are fully seated. A loose clip can destroy a new cylinder.
  • Oil the piston and the cylinder wall lightly before sliding the barrel on.
  • Tighten the cylinder head to the torque values in your service manual, in the correct order.
  • Take it easy for the first stretch of riding so the new rings can bed in, then change the oil.

If you are not comfortable working inside an engine, a motorcycle workshop can fit the kit for you.

While the Top End Is Apart

Since the head and cylinder are already off, it is a good time to check the cam chain and tensioner, clean carbon off the valves and combustion chamber, and look at the valve seals if the bike was smoking. Fit a new spark plug, clean or replace the air filter, and refill with fresh oil after the break-in ride.

Who This Kit Is For

This set suits riders and workshops rebuilding a tired SDH150 engine, bikes that have been sitting and seized, and anyone who wants to restore compression and cut oil burning without buying a whole engine. It is also handy to keep in stock if you run several of these bikes for delivery or daily commuting.
