Bamboo Shower Bench with Storage Shelf – Slatted Seat, Natural Finish

This bamboo shower bench is a low slatted seat with a gently curved top, four shaped legs and a slatted shelf underneath. It is made of bamboo in its natural honey colour, weighs 9.9 lb and is rated by the supplier at 220 lb. Easy Life Markets sells it in natural bamboo.

Sitting down in the shower is easier for shaving legs, washing feet or simply taking your time, and a bench with a shelf gives you somewhere to put the bottles at the same time. Out of the shower it is just as useful: a seat by the bath for drying off, a place to sit and put on shoes in a hallway, or a small stool for a child to reach a basin. The supplier's photos show it beside a freestanding bath with bottles and a towel on it.

What Is Included

The supplier does not give a packing list for this bench. The listing option shows "550 × 270 × 145 mm", which matches a flat-pack carton rather than the bench itself, so expect some assembly. Contact us if you want the contents confirmed.

Dimensions

The supplier gives two different sets of figures. We show both.

Measurement	Written spec (inches)	Dimension photo (inches)	Approx. cm
Length	19.75	17.5	44 to 50
Depth	10.25	10.25	26
Height	17.5	18.75	44 to 48
Shelf height from floor	Not given	8.75	22

The old product title called it 20 inches long, which matches the written 19.75. The dimension photo shows 17.5 inches. If the exact length matters, ask us before you order and we will check with the supplier.

About the Brand

The supplier lists the brand as HomCom. We are passing on what the supplier states. Easy Life Markets is a retailer, not the manufacturer, and we make no claim to be an authorised dealer for the brand.

A Straight Answer on the Details

"Naturally water-resistant". Bamboo copes with a wet room better than most woods, and the slats let water run through rather than pool. It is not waterproof. Left standing in water, or never allowed to dry, it will discolour and eventually split.
Not a medical shower seat. It has no grab handles and no height adjustment. Anyone who needs support to sit down or stand up in the shower should use a mobility shower chair designed for that.
Slippery floors. Place it on a level, dry spot where possible, and make sure all four legs sit flat before sitting on it on a wet tray.
Shown but not sold. Some photos also show a bamboo bath tray, a tall bamboo storage cabinet, bottles, towels and plants. Only the bench is included.
"Waterproof" icon. One supplier image carries a "Waterproof" label. We do not repeat that claim; see the note on water above.
"Indoor and outdoor". The supplier says it suits both. Outdoors, keep it under cover.
Not stated: Finish or coating, the parts in the box and which of the two length figures is correct.

Why Bamboo Works Here

Bamboo is a grass, not a tree, but once it is cut, pressed and glued into boards it behaves much like a hardwood: hard, light and fairly stable in damp air. That makes it a popular choice for bath mats, caddies and benches. The pale stripes you see in the photos are the knuckles, or nodes, of the original stems.

Where to Use It

In a walk-in shower, as a seat with a shelf for bottles.
Beside a bath, for towels and a place to sit while drying.
In a hallway or bedroom, as a shoe bench.
At a basin, as a step for a child, with an adult nearby.

Before You Buy

Check the floor space where the bamboo shower bench will stand. You need about 50 × 26 cm, plus space to sit down and stand up. In a small shower tray, make sure it will not block the drain or the door. The height of about 44 to 48 cm is close to a standard chair, which most adults find comfortable. If you plan to use it as a shoe bench, the lower shelf holds two or three pairs of flat shoes. In a steamy bathroom, a window or extractor fan that runs after each shower will help the bamboo stay in good condition for longer.

Care

Rinse off soap after use and let the bench dry between showers.
Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid bleach and harsh cleaners.
Rub in a little food-safe oil or bamboo oil every few months to keep it from drying out.
Check and tighten the screws now and then.

Who It Suits

Anyone who likes to sit in the shower or needs a small, light bench for a bathroom, a spa corner or an entrance, and wants it to look like furniture rather than equipment.
