Folding Adirondack Chair Set of 2 – Light Brown Wooden Patio Chairs

This folding Adirondack chair set gives you two matching wooden chairs in a light brown finish, each with the classic fan-shaped slatted back, a low sloping seat and wide flat armrests. Each chair folds flat for storage, and the backrest arrives already assembled. The supplier gives each chair as 31 × 28 × 36 inches and its photo shows a 220 lb rating. Easy Life Markets sells the set in light brown.

Adirondack chairs are the ones you see round fire pits and on lake docks: you sink back into them, rest a drink on the arm and stay for an hour. The trouble with most of them is that they are bulky to store. These fold, so at the end of summer they go flat against a shed wall or into a garage. The supplier's photos show them on a lawn in front of a porch, round a fire bowl on a stone terrace, and folded flat on their own.

What Is in the Box

  • 2 x folding Adirondack chairs, with the backrests pre-assembled
  • Fixings and instruction sheet, as shown in the supplier's parts photo

The supplier says the remaining parts take about 30 to 40 minutes to put together per chair. It does not give a full parts count.

Dimensions

The written figures are from the supplier's table. The rest are read from its "assembly size" photo. Centimetres are our conversion.

Measurement Inches Centimetres
Each chair (L × W × H) 31 × 28 × 36 79 × 71 × 91

The photo also shows a back angle of 103 degrees. The supplier lists the weight as 41.80 lb and the boxed weight as 43.57 lb, without saying whether that is one chair or both.

A Straight Answer on the Details

  • Which wood? The supplier's text says natural hemlock. One of its photos labels the finish "Brushed Cedar". We read that as the name of the colour or finish, not a second wood type, but the supplier does not make it clear. Hemlock is a softwood and needs regular sealing outdoors.
  • Weight figures. The 220 lb rating appears only in a photo, not in the written specs. The 41.80 lb weight is not clearly for one chair or two.
  • Outdoor life. The listing does not mention any treatment or sealant. Unsealed softwood left out in rain will grey, crack and eventually rot. Oil or seal it before the first season and bring the chairs in, or cover them, over winter.
  • The extras in the photos. The fire bowl, side table, ball and drinks are styling only and are not included.
  • Not stated: Finish or sealant used, fixing type and per-chair weight.

Where the Adirondack Comes From

The Adirondack chair was designed in the early 1900s for a mountain holiday home, using flat boards cut and screwed together. The recipe has hardly changed: a seat lower at the back than the front, a tall reclined back and arms wide enough for a plate. Folding versions like these add a hinge so the chair can be stored flat.

Putting Them Together

  1. Lay out the parts for one chair and check them against the instruction sheet.
  2. Attach the legs and seat frame to the pre-assembled backrest.
  3. Fit the armrests and tighten every fixing.
  4. Test the fold once before you sit down, then repeat for the second chair.

Using Them Round a Fire Pit

These chairs are a natural fit for a fire pit, and the supplier's photos show them that way. Keep them at a sensible distance from open flames: dry softwood can scorch from radiant heat and sparks. Put them on level ground so they do not rock, and fold them away at the end of the evening if rain is coming. Because they fold flat, two chairs fit easily against a garage wall or in the back of an estate car for a weekend away.

Care

  • Seal or oil the wood before first use outdoors and once a year after that.
  • Wipe with a damp cloth; avoid pressure washers, which raise the grain.
  • Re-tighten screws a few weeks after assembly and each spring.
  • Fold and store under cover in winter.

Who It Suits

Gardens, decks, lawns and fire pit areas, for people who want two classic Adirondack chairs that can be folded away when the season ends.
