Propane Fire Pit Table – 56 Inch Rectangular Gas Fire Table, 50,000 BTU, Dark Grey

This propane fire pit table is a long, low rectangular gas fire for a patio or deck, about 56 inches long, 26.4 inches wide and 13.6 inches high, with a dark grey body and an arched base. A stainless steel burner sits in a bed of lava rocks in the centre, and the supplier rates it at 50,000 BTU. Easy Life Markets sells it in dark grey, with a cover, lava rocks, a gas hose and a tank seat included.

A gas fire table gives you the look of a fire without logs, smoke or ash. You turn the knob, press to light, and set the flame height with the same control. At 13.6 inches high it sits at coffee-table level, so it fits in front of a sofa or between lounge chairs, and the flat rim around the burner gives you somewhere to rest a cup. The supplier's photos show it on stone terraces and wooden decks surrounded by outdoor sofas.

What Is in the Box

The supplier's "What's Included" photo shows:

  • 1 x fire table with burner and control
  • 1 x tank seat
  • 1 x gas hose with regulator
  • 1 x rain cover
  • 1 x bottle of touch-up paint
  • 1 x bag of lava rocks
  • 1 x manual

The propane tank is not included, and the supplier's dimension photo states that a tank does not fit inside the table. It stands outside, connected by the hose.

A Straight Answer on the Details

  • "Concrete". The supplier lists the main material as concrete. At 66 lb for a table this size, it is probably a light concrete composite rather than solid cast concrete. The finish in the photos is a smooth, matt, concrete-look grey.
  • "Waterproof cover". The supplier's photo calls the cover waterproof. It will keep rain and leaves off the burner. Water can still collect under any cover, so let the table dry out before lighting it after rain.
  • The badge in the photos. One supplier image shows a test-lab logo. We have no certificate for this item and make no claim about testing or approvals. Ask your gas supplier or installer if local rules require a particular approval.
  • "No assembly required". The supplier says so. You still have to add the lava rocks and connect the tank to the hose.
  • Not stated: Burner length, ignition type in detail, tank size it is intended for and expected burn time per tank.

Propane Safety Basics

Propane is heavier than air, so a leak collects at ground level rather than drifting away. That is why gas fire tables are for open-air use only. Use this one outdoors, never in a garage, a tent or a closed conservatory. Keep it clear of overhanging branches, awnings and parasols, and check the hose connection with soapy water before each season: bubbles mean a leak. Turn the tank valve off when you have finished, not just the knob on the table.

Getting It Going

  1. Place the table on a level, non-flammable surface such as stone, paving or concrete.
  2. Spread the lava rocks evenly over the burner pan, as shown in the supplier's photos.
  3. Stand the propane tank on the tank seat beside the table and connect the hose and regulator.
  4. Open the tank valve, then turn and press the control knob to light, following the manual.
  5. Adjust the flame height with the knob.

Choosing the Spot

Pick a place with open sky above and a clear circle of space around the table. Seating should be close enough to feel the warmth but not so close that knees touch the rim. Keep the hose run short and out of walkways so nobody trips over it, and stand the tank where it is shaded from strong afternoon sun.

Looking After It

  • Let it cool fully before fitting the cover.
  • Brush off leaves and dust and wipe the body with a damp cloth.
  • Use the supplied touch-up paint on chips and scuffs.
  • Check that the burner holes are clear of debris and spider webs at the start of each season.
  • Disconnect and store the tank upright, outdoors, when the table is not in use for a long time.

Who It Suits

Patios, terraces and decks with an outdoor sofa or lounge chairs, where you want a low, modern centrepiece with real flames and no wood smoke.
