Italika ATV Rear Brake Kit for ATV150, ATV180 and ATV200

This Italika ATV rear brake kit replaces the whole rear hydraulic brake circuit in one go: the left-hand pump (the master cylinder with its lever), the rear caliper and the oil line that joins them. The supplier lists it for the Italika ATV150 with reverse, ATV150 Sport with reverse, ATV180 and ATV200, across the model years set out below. Easy Life Markets sells it as one set, so the three parts arrive matched instead of being collected from different sellers.

On these quads the rear brake is worked from the left handlebar. Squeezing the lever pushes a small piston in the master cylinder, the fluid carries that pressure down the line, and the caliper piston clamps the pads on the rear disc. When any one of the three parts fails, the lever goes soft or the brake drags, and it is often hard to say which part is to blame. Swapping all three removes the doubt. The master cylinder article explains how the pump end of the system works.

What Comes in the Kit

  • 1 x brake kit (the supplier's packing list)

The product photos show what that kit is made of:

  • A black left-hand master cylinder with a built-in fluid reservoir, a long lever and a handlebar clamp
  • A gold-coloured rear caliper on a black mounting bracket, with a bleed nipple
  • A braided brake line with a banjo fitting at each end

Brake fluid is not listed, and neither are banjo bolts or sealing washers, so have fresh fluid and new washers ready. Pads are not named in the packing list either.

Models and Years the Supplier Lists

  • Italika ATV150 con reversa: 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024
  • Italika ATV150 Sport c/reversa: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019
  • Italika ATV180: 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024
  • Italika ATV200: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

This list comes from the supplier, and we have not tested the kit on each model ourselves. The old listing title ran the three engine sizes together as "150180200"; they are ATV150, ATV180 and ATV200.

How to Confirm It Suits Your Quad

  1. Find your model and year on the registration papers or the frame plate and compare them with the list above.
  2. Look at your left lever. It should have a hydraulic reservoir on the perch, like the one in the photos, not a cable.
  3. Follow the line. Measure your old hose from banjo to banjo and note the angle of each fitting.
  4. Compare the caliper. Check the bracket shape and mounting holes against the photos.

If your quad is a different year, or it has been modified, message us with a photo of the old parts and we will check with the supplier.

Signs the Rear Brake Circuit Is Tired

  • The left lever comes back to the grip before the brake bites
  • Fluid on the lever perch, along the hose or around the caliper
  • A rear brake that stays on and heats the disc
  • A lever that feels firm one day and soft the next
  • A cracked reservoir, bent lever or kinked line after a rollover

Fitting the Kit

  • Park on level ground, chock the wheels and clean the area around the old parts first.
  • Remove the old master cylinder, line and caliper. Catch the old fluid and keep it off plastics and paint.
  • Clamp the new master cylinder on the left bar so the reservoir sits level when the bars are straight.
  • Route the line along the original path and secure it in the same guides, with no tight bends and no contact with the exhaust or moving suspension parts.
  • Bolt the caliper over the disc, connect both banjo fittings with new washers and tighten to the service manual figures.
  • Fill with the fluid grade marked on the reservoir cap or in the owner's manual, then bleed at the caliper until the lever is firm.
  • Test the brake at walking speed before riding normally.

A long brake line holds a lot of air, so bleeding takes patience. Brakes are a safety system. If you are not confident with hydraulic work, have a mechanic fit and bleed the set.

Why Change All Three Parts Together

Each part in a hydraulic circuit ages at about the same rate. Fit a new caliper to an old master cylinder and the worn seals at the lever may be the next thing to fail. Replacing the pump, line and caliper together gives you one clean, freshly bled circuit and a lever feel you can trust. It also saves labour, because the system only has to be opened and bled once.

Who This Kit Is For

It suits owners of the listed Italika quads who do their own repairs, rental and farm fleets that need machines back in use quickly, and workshops that service these ATVs regularly.

Common Questions

Is this an original Italika part? No. It is an unbranded aftermarket set that the supplier lists for these models.

What does "left pump" mean? It is the supplier's term for the left-hand master cylinder, the part with the lever and reservoir.

Does it come filled with fluid? Nothing in the listing says so. Plan to fill and bleed it yourself.
