Men's Baggy Denim Shorts – Long Carpenter-Style Jorts in Blue or Gray
Men's Baggy Denim Shorts – Long Carpenter-Style Jorts in Blue or Gray
These men's baggy denim shorts are long, wide-leg jorts in non-stretch cotton denim, with a straight leg that falls to the knee or just below it. The photos show carpenter details: a hammer loop and a tool pocket on the side of the leg. Easy Life Markets sells them in a washed blue and a gray, in sizes S to 2XL.
This is the loose, skate-inspired cut that has come back into fashion. The legs are wide from the hip down, the denim is rigid, and the hem sits far lower than an ordinary pair of shorts. They are meant to be worn low and roomy with a boxy T-shirt and chunky trainers.
What Is in the Box

The supplier's chart also prints "US" and "EU" size numbers beside each size. Those numbers do not match the waist measurements in the same row, so we have left them out. Go by the centimetres and inches.
How to Choose Your Size
The denim has no stretch, so the waist measurement is the one that decides the size.
- Take a pair of jeans or shorts that fits you at the waist and lay it flat, buttoned.
- Measure straight across the top of the waistband and double the figure.
- Find the size in the chart with the same waist, or the next one up. Rigid denim does not give, so do not size down.
- Check the length. At 61 to 65 cm overall, the hem comes to the knee or below on most men. If you are shorter, the hem will sit lower on the calf.
- If you plan to wear them low on the hips, as in the photos, a slightly larger waist is fine and a belt takes up the slack.
The supplier states that its sizes run one to two sizes smaller than typical European and American sizing. If you would like help, send us your waist measurement and we will suggest a size.
A Straight Answer on the Details
- "Cropped". The supplier lists the pant length as cropped. That is its way of saying these stop short of full length. They are long shorts, not cropped trousers.
- The hip is generous. The hip figure is about 30 cm larger than the waist in every size. That is what makes them baggy. If you want a neat, fitted short, this is not the cut.
- Wash and fading. The blue pair in the photos has a light, faded wash with paler patches on the thighs and seat. Washes vary from pair to pair.
- The gray pair. Check the photo that appears when you select Gray, because the main photos show the blue.
- Not stated by the supplier: Denim weight, whether the fly is zip or button, the number of pockets, and care instructions.
About the Style
Jorts is the everyday name for denim shorts, and the long, loose version has roots in skateboarding and 1990s streetwear. The hammer loop and side pocket are borrowed from carpenter jeans, which were workwear before they were fashion. On shorts they are a style detail.
How to Wear Them
- With a plain, boxy white T-shirt and white trainers, as in the supplier's photos.
- With crew socks pulled up. The long hem and a visible sock are part of the look.
- With a loose overshirt or a hoodie when it is cooler.
- With skate shoes or chunky trainers. Slim shoes look lost under a wide hem.
Keep the top half loose as well. A tight top over very wide shorts looks unbalanced.
Care
Follow the care label in the shorts. Where the label gives no guidance, the usual approach for cotton denim is:
- Wash inside out in cool water with similar colours.
- Wash separately the first time or two. Denim dye can run.
- Dry on a line. Cotton denim can shrink in a hot tumble dryer, and with non-stretch denim there is no give to make up for it.
- Iron on a medium setting if you want a crisp look. Most people do not iron denim shorts.
Who They Suit
Men who like a loose, skate or streetwear look, anyone who finds short shorts uncomfortable, and buyers who want a summer alternative to baggy jeans.
