Men's Retro Platform Sneakers – Low-Top Casual Shoes with Chunky Laces

These men's retro platform sneakers are low-top, lace-up casual shoes with a thick sole, a PU upper built from panels in contrasting colours, and oversized rope-style laces. A printed graphic sits on the side panel. Easy Life Markets sells them in dark green, light green and red colourways, in sizes 39 to 44.

The style borrows from old-school court shoes: a round toe with perforations, a padded collar and a flat, wide sole. What makes this pair different is the colour mix and the thick, twisted laces. Together they give the worn-in, vintage look that is popular in streetwear, on a brand-new shoe.

Size Chart

These are the supplier's figures.

EU size US size Foot length
39 7 24.5 cm
40 7.5 25.0 cm
41 8 25.5 cm
42 8.5 26.0 cm
43 9.5 26.5 cm
44 10 27.0 cm

The supplier's chart also lists sizes 45 and 46, which are not offered here.

How to Measure Your Feet

  1. Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, wearing the socks you would wear with the shoes.
  2. Mark the tip of your longest toe.
  3. Measure from the wall to the mark in centimetres.
  4. Measure both feet and use the longer one.
  5. Choose the size whose foot length matches or is just above your measurement.

On this chart the sizes are on the small side. A foot of 27 cm is a 44 here, where many European charts would put it at 42 or 43. Do not order your usual number without measuring. A PU upper does not stretch much, so if you are between sizes or have wide feet, take the larger. If you would like help, send us your foot length and we will suggest a size.

The Colourways

  • Dark Green: Deep green panels with tan and pale beige, as shown in the supplier's main photo.
  • Light Green: A paler green version.
  • Red: The supplier's own text calls this colour "camel red".

All have a cream-coloured sole and cream rope laces in the photos. Check the photo that appears when you select an option. Screens show colour differently, so shades may vary slightly.

A Straight Answer on the Details

  • "Platform". The supplier describes a thick sole and a low heel of 1 to 3 cm. This is a chunky flat sole, not a raised platform of the kind found on fashion boots. It adds a little height.
  • "Walking shoes". The original listing called these walking shoes. They are casual sneakers. They are fine for everyday walking, but a flat, heavy-soled PU shoe is not what we would choose for long-distance walking.
  • PU upper. PU is a synthetic leather-look material. It is not real leather. It wipes clean and holds its shape, and it is less breathable than leather or mesh.
  • Supplier claims. The supplier lists the shoes as lightweight and wear-resistant without figures. We pass that on as its description, not as a tested fact.
  • Stray attributes. The supplier's list of "fashionable elements" includes flip-flop, tassel and cross straps. None of those appear on the shoe in the photos, and we have ignored them.
  • Markings. The photos show lettering on the tongue and the box. These are the maker's own markings. We sell the shoes as unbranded.

About the Style

The low-top court shoe with a cupped rubber sole is one of the oldest shapes in sneakers. Recent fashion has brought back cream "aged" soles, earthy colour blocking and thick laces to give new shoes a vintage character. This pair follows that trend closely.

How to Wear Them

  • With baggy jeans or loose denim shorts. Wide legs suit a chunky shoe.
  • With cargo trousers and a plain hoodie.
  • With the laces tied loosely, as in the photos. Rope laces are meant to look relaxed.
  • With white or cream socks to match the sole.

Care

  • Wipe the upper with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry with a soft cloth.
  • Clean the sole edge with a soft brush and soapy water.
  • Take out the rope laces and hand wash them. Let them dry fully before re-lacing, because thick laces hold water.
  • Stuff the shoes with paper and dry them in the air, away from heaters and direct sun.
  • Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
  • Avoid solvent cleaners on the PU and on the printed side panel.

Who They Suit

Men who like retro streetwear and want a shoe with more character than a plain white trainer.
