Traverse Front Brake Kit 2007-2017 – Drilled & Slotted 12.8 in Front Rotors with Ceramic Pads for Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook
Traverse Front Brake Kit – 12.8 Inch Drilled and Slotted Rotors with Ceramic Pads
This Traverse front brake kit replaces the front rotors and pads on the Chevrolet Traverse and its sister vehicles, the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook. You get two drilled and slotted rotors measuring 12.8 inches (325 mm) across and a set of ceramic brake pads for the front axle. Easy Life Markets sells it as one matched set, which saves you sourcing rotors in one place and pads in another and hoping they suit each other.
These are big, heavy family crossovers, and the front brakes do most of the work of stopping them. Years of school runs, motorway driving and full loads of passengers leave the front rotors scored or uneven and the pads thin. You notice it as a shake in the steering wheel when you slow down, a squeal, or a pedal that sits lower than it used to. Fitting fresh rotors and pads together is the usual cure. If you would like to understand the parts first, the disc brake article gives a clear overview.
What Comes in the Kit
As shown in the product photo:

Which Vehicles the Supplier Lists
The supplier's fitment chart names these models, all with a 12.8 inch (325 mm) front rotor:
- Chevrolet Traverse, 2009–2017
- Buick Enclave, 2008–2017
- GMC Acadia, 2007–2016
- GMC Acadia Limited, 2017
- Saturn Outlook, 2007–2010
Note the Acadia years. The redesigned 2017 Acadia is a different, smaller vehicle and is not on the list. Only the 2017 Acadia Limited, which kept the older body, is covered.
How to Check the Fit Before You Buy
- Measure a front rotor. Across the full face it should be 12.8 inches, or 325 mm.
- Count the wheel studs. The rotors pictured are drilled for six.
- Look at your pad shape. Compare the pads on your vehicle with the ones in the photos.
- Use your VIN. A GM parts catalogue will confirm the front rotor size for your exact build. You can also send us the VIN and we will help you check.
About the Rotors and Pads
The rotors are cast from HT250 iron. Drilled holes and angled slots run across both braking faces. According to the supplier, the holes help the rotor shed heat, and the slots stop water from sitting on the surface and sweep dust away from the pad. The grey areas you see on the hat and edges are a galvanized coating. Its job is to slow down rust on the parts the pads never touch, which also keeps the rotor looking tidy behind open-spoke wheels.
The pads use a ceramic friction material. The supplier describes them as resistant to high temperatures and wear, and lower in dust and noise than ordinary pads. Less dust means cleaner front wheels, which owners of these vehicles tend to appreciate.
When the Front Brakes Are Due
- The steering wheel shimmies when you brake from speed
- You hear squealing, or a harsh grinding once the pads are worn out
- The rotor face shows deep grooves, cracks or blue heat spots
- There is a pronounced lip around the rotor's outer edge
- The pad material is nearly down to the metal backing plate
- The pedal travels further before the vehicle slows
Fitting Advice
- Raise the front of the vehicle on a level surface and support it on axle stands. Never rely on a jack alone.
- Hang the caliper from the suspension with wire or a hook so its weight is not on the brake hose.
- Scrub the hub face with a wire brush before the new rotor goes on. A patch of rust behind the rotor makes it run out of true and causes vibration.
- Clean the new rotors with brake cleaner to remove any protective film before the pads touch them.
- Fit the new clips, grease the slide pins lightly and tighten every bolt to the figure in the service manual.
- Press the brake pedal several times until it firms up before you drive away.
Brakes are a safety system. If you have not done this job before, or you do not have the right tools, ask a qualified mechanic to fit the kit.
Bedding In the New Brakes
New pads need to lay an even film of friction material onto new rotors. Make eight to ten moderate stops from around 50 km/h down to walking pace, leaving a short gap between each one, and avoid sitting with your foot hard on the pedal while the brakes are hot. After that, drive gently for the first couple of hundred kilometres. A light whirring sound from drilled and slotted rotors is normal.
Who Should Buy This Kit
It suits Traverse, Enclave, Acadia and Outlook owners who service their own vehicles, as well as independent garages that want rotors and pads in a single box. Confirm the rotor size and model year first.
Common Questions
Does the kit include rear brakes? No. It covers the front axle only.
Is this a genuine GM part? No. It is an aftermarket kit, and the parts in the photos carry VEVOR markings.
Can I fit the pads without changing the rotors? You could, but the kit is designed to be fitted together. New pads on worn rotors bed in poorly and often bring the vibration back.
