This 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 brake kit renews the brakes at all four wheels of the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, and the supplier also lists it for 2015–2020 Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL and Escalade models. Check for special packages. Police package Tahoe and Yukon models are excluded, and so are Escalades with the Brembo brake package.
Count the studs. The rotors pictured are 6-lug.

How the Rotors and Pads Are Made

The rotors are cast in HT250 iron, which the supplier describes as heavy-duty and resistant to deformation. They are drilled and slotted. In the supplier's words, this lets them cool quickly under heavy loads or during emergency braking and stops water and dust from building up. The surface is galvanized to prevent corrosion, which helps both durability and appearance.

The pads are primarily ceramic. The supplier says they resist wear and fade well and make less dust in use. Their chamfered edges help the pad sit snugly against the rotor, and that reduces noise.

Signs Your Brakes Need Replacing

Installation Tips

Lift and support the vehicle safely on rated stands.
Unbolt the caliper and bracket, and support the caliper so the hose does not stretch.
Remove the old rotor and clean the hub flange down to clean metal.
Remove any protective oil from the new rotors with brake cleaner.
Seat the new hardware clips, grease the slide pins and fit the pads.
Torque everything to the service manual specification, refit the wheels and torque the wheel nuts.
Pump the pedal before starting off, then bed the pads with a series of moderate stops.

Drilled and Slotted Rotors on a Truck

Owners who tow often choose this rotor style because it copes better with repeated heavy stops than a plain rotor. Expect a faint whirr from the slots under braking. That is normal, and so is slightly faster pad wear compared with smooth rotors. Inspect the pads at each tyre rotation.
