Wave Wine Rack – Aluminium Countertop Bottle Holder, 4 Colours

This wave wine rack is a single ribbon of powder-coated aluminium bent into a continuous S-curve, which cradles bottles in its bends. It measures about 167 × 150 × 302 mm and the metal is 3 mm thick. Easy Life Markets sells it in black, white, green and a blue-green the supplier calls postman green.

It is as much an ornament as a rack. Empty, it reads as a piece of small sculpture on a sideboard or shelf. In use, a bottle lies in each curve, and the supplier's photos show it both standing tall and lying on its side with a bottle resting in a bend. At about 30 cm it is a countertop piece for a few bottles, a couple of rolled hand towels or a short stack of magazines.

What Is in the Box

The supplier does not provide a packing list. The rack is a single formed piece of metal, so there is nothing to assemble. Bottles and the props in the photos are not included.

Size

These figures come from the supplier's specification.

Measurement Millimetres Inches
Length 167 6.6
Width 150 5.9
Height 302 11.9
Metal thickness 3 0.12

The supplier notes that its measurements may be slightly out. The weight and the number of bottles it is meant to hold are not stated.

A Straight Answer on the Details

  • It is small. The original title called this a storage shelf and bookshelf. At 30 cm tall and 15 cm wide it will not hold books in the usual sense. It is a tabletop rack and ornament.
  • "Slightly flawed". The supplier's own specification describes a moss green rack as "slightly flawed" stock. It does not explain what the flaw is or whether the note applies to every colour. If you are ordering the green and a perfect finish matters, contact us first so we can ask the supplier. We would sooner tell you than have you find out on arrival.
  • Bottle capacity. The supplier gives no number. The shape has three curves, and the photos show one standard bottle lying in a curve. Heavy or oversized bottles, such as sparkling wine or magnums, may not sit safely.
  • Stability. A narrow rack with weight high up can tip. Load the lowest curve first and unload from the top. Keep it away from the edge of a counter and out of reach of small children.
  • Not stated: Weight, weight limit, bottle capacity and whether the base has protective pads.

About the Finish

Powder coating is a dry finishing process. Fine pigment powder is sprayed on to the metal with an electrostatic charge and then baked, so it melts into a smooth, hard skin. It is tougher than ordinary paint and is used on everything from bicycle frames to garden furniture. Aluminium underneath does not rust, which makes the combination a sensible one for a kitchen. The coating can still chip if the rack is dropped or knocked hard against stone.

Ways to Use It

  • Wine rack: On a sideboard, bar cart or kitchen counter, with bottles lying on their sides.
  • Towel holder: With rolled hand towels or flannels in a bathroom or guest room.
  • Magazine or record stand: For a few magazines or small items leaning in the curves.
  • Ornament: Left empty on a shelf or console as a piece of sculpture.

Store wine away from direct sunlight, ovens and radiators. A rack on a sunny windowsill or next to a hob is a poor place to keep a good bottle for long.

Storing Wine on Its Side

Wine sealed with a natural cork is traditionally kept lying down, so the cork stays in contact with the wine and does not dry out. A rack like this does that for the few bottles you plan to open soon. It is a serving and display rack, not a cellar. Keep it somewhere cool and shaded, and move anything you intend to keep for years to proper storage.

Care

  • Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry it.
  • Do not use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners, which dull a powder-coated surface.
  • Stick small felt or silicone pads under the base if you want to protect a stone, glass or lacquered surface.
  • Lift the rack to move it, and take the bottles out first.
  • Avoid knocks from glass bottles when loading. Lower them in gently.

Who It Suits

People who keep a few bottles on show and want something better looking than a wire rack, and anyone after a small modern ornament with a practical side. It makes a neat housewarming present.
