WiFi Door Sensor – Tuya Smart Door and Window Contact Sensor with App Alerts
WiFi Door Sensor – Tuya Smart Door and Window Contact Sensor with App Alerts
This WiFi door sensor is a small two-piece contact sensor that tells your phone when a door or window opens or closes. The larger piece holds the electronics and goes on the frame. The smaller piece goes on the door or window itself. It connects over WiFi to the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, with no separate hub listed. Easy Life Markets sells it in white as a single sensor, a pack of two or a pack of three.
People use sensors like this to know when the front door opens while they are out, to check that a back door or garage was shut, to keep track of a medicine cupboard or a child's bedroom door, and to trigger other smart devices, such as a light that comes on when a door opens.
What Is in the Box
The supplier does not publish a written packing list. Each sensor is the two pieces shown in the photos, the main body and the smaller magnet piece. Batteries, adhesive pads and a manual are not listed in writing. Ask us before ordering if you need this confirmed.

What the Supplier Does Not State
- Battery type and life. The app shows a battery level, so the sensor runs on batteries, but the type, the number and the expected life are not given. Ask us if you want to buy spares in advance.
- WiFi band. Not stated. Tuya-based sensors commonly use 2.4 GHz only, so have that band available.
- Largest gap between the two pieces. Not stated. Fit them as close together as the frame allows.
- Siren. None is listed. Alerts are phone notifications.
- Weather resistance. None is listed. Use it indoors.
How It Works
Contact sensors of this kind normally hold a reed switch in the main body and a magnet in the smaller piece. With the door shut, the magnet sits beside the switch. When the door opens, the magnet moves away, the switch changes state, and the sensor reports it over WiFi. The app then records the time and sends a notification.
Battery WiFi sensors usually sleep between events to save power and wake only when the door moves. In practice this means a notification can take a few seconds to arrive.
What the Voice Assistant Support Means
The supplier lists Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT. With a sensor, this is mainly about routines: asking whether a door is open, or having another device react when it opens. What is possible depends on each platform and changes over time, so we do not promise a particular routine. Set up the sensor in the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app first, then link that account to the assistant.
Fitting It
- Add the sensor to the app before you stick it down, while you are standing near the router. Follow the app's steps to put it in pairing mode.
- Decide where it goes. The usual place is the top corner of the door on the opening side, with the main body on the frame and the small piece on the door.
- Hold both pieces in place and open and close the door. Check that the app changes between open and closed every time.
- Clean both surfaces with a dry cloth so the adhesive grips.
- Fix the pieces level with each other and close together.
- Name the sensor in the app after its door, and switch on notifications.
Getting Reliable Alerts
- Check the WiFi signal at the door. A weak signal is the usual reason for late or missing alerts.
- On a metal door or frame, test before fixing. Steel can affect the magnet's range.
- Allow the app to send notifications and to run in the background in your phone's settings.
- Replace the batteries when the app shows them low. A sensor with a flat battery reports nothing.
- Keep the two pieces aligned. A door that sags over time can pull them apart enough to cause false alerts.
Where to Use It
- Front and back doors
- Ground-floor windows and patio doors
- Garage side doors, sheds reached by your WiFi, and store rooms
- Cupboards holding medicines, tools or valuables
- Fridge or freezer doors, to catch one left open
A Fair Word on Security
This is a notification device. It tells you a door has opened. It does not sound a siren, call anyone or stop an intruder, and it depends on your WiFi, your internet connection and its batteries. Treat it as a useful extra, not as a replacement for good locks or a monitored alarm.
Common Questions
Does it need a hub? It connects by WiFi and no hub is listed.
Will I get alerts away from home? Remote notification through the app is listed. Your home WiFi needs a working internet connection.
Can several people get the alerts? Tuya-based apps generally let you share a device with other accounts. Check the app for how it works at the time you set up.
Is it made by Tuya, Amazon or Google? No. It is an unbranded sensor from our supplier that is listed as working with those platforms.
Does it work on windows? Yes, on any opening where the two pieces can sit side by side when closed.
