WiFi Water Pump Timer – Automatic Drip Irrigation Kit for Potted Plants

This WiFi water pump timer is a self-contained watering unit for pots and planters. A small pump inside the white control box draws water from a bucket or bottle and pushes it through thin tubing to drip heads in each pot, at times you set on the unit or from a phone. It runs on a rechargeable battery, and one version comes with a solar panel. Easy Life Markets sells it as the irrigator alone or as the solar irrigation device.

It is not a tap timer and it does not connect to a garden hose or a sprinkler line. The pump supplies its own pressure, which is why it suits balconies, window sills, greenhouses and indoor plant shelves where there is no tap nearby. Fill a container, set the schedule, and the plants are watered while you are at work or away for a week.

What Is in the Box

  • 1 × watering control unit with built-in pump
  • 8 × drip irrigation heads
  • Capillary tubing, listed as 10
  • 10 × fixed seats (tube holders)
  • 2 × nozzles
  • 2 × filters
  • 2 × plugs
  • 1 × three-way connector
  • 1 × product manual
  • 1 × inspection certificate
  • Solar panel, on the Solar Irrigation Device option

The supplier writes the tubing as "capillary tube × 10" without a unit. On kits of this type that normally means 10 metres, but the supplier does not say so. Ask us if the length decides your purchase. A water container and a USB charger are not included.

What the Supplier Does Not State

  • How many pots it can feed. Eight drip heads are supplied. The supplier gives no maximum.
  • Lift height and tube run. Not stated. Small pumps lose flow quickly with height, so keep the water container level with or just below the unit, and keep runs short.
  • Battery life per charge. Not stated. It depends on how long the pump runs each day.
  • Weather resistance. None is listed, and the working environment is given as room temperature. Keep the control unit under cover and out of rain and frost.
  • App name and WiFi band. Not stated in the listing.
  • Solar panel size and output. Not stated.

How Much Water Will It Give?

The listed pump rate of 550 ml per minute is shared between all the drip heads. With eight heads fitted, that is roughly 70 ml per pot for each minute of running, before losses in the tubing. A small pot may need under a minute. A large planter may need several. Drip irrigation works by giving a little water slowly at the roots, so short, regular runs suit it better than one long soak.

Work out the container size the same way. A two minute run every day uses a little over a litre. A 10 litre bucket would last about nine days at that rate.

Setting It Up

The manual gives the exact order for this kit. In outline:

  1. Charge the unit fully by USB.
  2. Lay out the pots and cut the tubing to reach each one. Leave some slack.
  3. Fit a filter to the inlet tube and drop it into the water container so it rests near the bottom.
  4. Run the outlet tube along the pots. Use the three-way connector to branch it, and the plugs to close any open end.
  5. Push a drip head into the tube at each pot and pin it in the soil with a fixed seat.
  6. Set a short test run and watch every head. Adjust until each pot gets its share.
  7. Set the watering times on the unit, or add it to the app named in the manual and set them there.
  8. On the solar option, place the panel where it gets direct sun and connect it to the unit.

Tips from Experience with Drip Kits

  • Do a full test week before you go away. It is the only way to learn the right run time.
  • Keep the water container below the level of the pots if you can. A container above the pots can siphon and empty itself.
  • Use clean water. Feed and hard-water scale block drip heads over time, so rinse the filters monthly.
  • Cover the container to keep out leaves, insects and algae.
  • Put thirsty plants and dry-loving plants on different schedules by hand-watering one group.
  • Drain the tubing and bring the unit indoors before frost.

Who It Suits

Balcony and patio gardeners with no outside tap, people with many house plants, greenhouse and seedling growers, and anyone who travels and does not want to ask a neighbour to water.

Common Questions

Does it connect to a tap? No. It pumps from a container of water.

Will it run a lawn sprinkler? No. The pump is sized for drip heads in pots.

Does it work without WiFi? The unit has its own screen and buttons for setting times. Phone control needs WiFi.

Do I need the solar version? It helps where the unit sits a long way from a socket. Indoors, the USB version is simpler.

Is it a branded product? No. It is an unbranded kit from our supplier.
