What IP67 Means in Practice

The old title called this a waterproof watch. The supplier's actual figure is IP67, and we use that. Under the IP code, 67 means dust-tight and able to withstand a short immersion in still fresh water at shallow depth under test conditions. For a watch, that covers rain, sweat and hand washing. It does not cover swimming, diving, hot showers, saunas or sea water, and seals wear with age. We have not tested the rating ourselves.
