2006-2018 Ram 1500 Brake Kit – Front and Rear Drilled and Slotted Rotors with Ceramic Pads

This 2006-2018 Ram 1500 brake kit covers the front and rear axles of 5-lug Ram 1500 pickups, and the supplier also lists it for the 2007–2009 Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen. It includes four drilled and slotted rotors, 13.2 inches at the front and 13.9 inches at the rear, with ceramic brake pads and hardware clips for both ends. Easy Life Markets sells it as a single matched set for owners who want the whole brake job done in one go.

A half-ton pickup spends its life hauling, towing and carrying more than it weighs on paper. Each of those loads has to be stopped, and the heat from doing so is what wears rotors and pads out. The warning signs are familiar: a pedal that pulses under your foot, a shudder through the cab when you slow from speed, squealing, or a longer stop than you expected with a trailer behind you. Our starting point for anyone unfamiliar with the hardware is the disc brake article.

What Is Included

The product photo shows:

  • 2 x front brake rotors, drilled and slotted
  • 2 x rear brake rotors, drilled and slotted
  • 4 x front ceramic brake pads
  • 4 x rear ceramic brake pads
  • 12 x pad hardware clips (eight small and four larger)

Calipers, brake hoses, brake fluid and brake cleaner are not part of the kit.

Compatibility

The supplier's fitment chart lists:

  • Dodge Ram 1500, 2006–2010, 5-lug, excluding SRT-10 models
  • Ram 1500, 2011–2018, 5-lug
  • Ram 1500 Classic, 2019–2023
  • Dodge Durango, 2007–2009
  • Chrysler Aspen, 2007–2009

Two points are worth spelling out. First, the kit is for 5-lug trucks only. Second, the redesigned Ram 1500 sold from 2019 is not listed. Only the Ram 1500 Classic, which continued the earlier body, appears on the chart for 2019–2023.

How to Confirm It Suits Your Truck

  1. Count the lug nuts on one wheel. You need five.
  2. Measure the rotors. The fronts should be 13.2 inches across and the rears 13.9 inches.
  3. Rule out the SRT-10. The supplier excludes it for 2006–2010.
  4. Check the VIN. A Mopar parts catalogue will show the brake sizes for your build. We are happy to help if you send us the number.

About the Parts

The rotors have holes drilled through the braking faces and slots machined across them. Both features give heat, water and dust a way out from between the pad and the rotor, which helps when the truck is loaded or working on a long downhill. A galvanized coating covers the rotor surface to slow corrosion. On a truck with open wheels, that also keeps the hat and edges from turning brown after the first wet week.

The pads are ceramic. This type is generally picked for quiet running and low dust, and it suits a truck that is driven daily as well as used for work.

Signs Your Truck Needs New Brakes

  • Pedal pulsation or a shake in the steering wheel while braking
  • Squeal, scrape or grinding noises from the wheels
  • Rotors with grooves, cracks, bluing or a deep lip at the edge
  • Pads with little friction material left
  • Brake fade when towing or descending with a load
  • A brake pedal that sinks further than it used to

Installation Tips

  • Use stands rated for the truck's weight and chock the wheels that stay on the ground.
  • Do the front and rear axles separately so the parts do not get mixed. The front and rear pads are different shapes.
  • Clean each hub face thoroughly. Rust left under a rotor is the most common cause of a vibration that appears soon after a brake job.
  • Spray the new rotors with brake cleaner and wipe them dry.
  • Fit the new clips, lubricate the caliper slide pins and make sure the pistons slide back smoothly.
  • Tighten caliper bracket bolts and wheel nuts to the torque values in the service manual.
  • Pump the pedal until it is firm, then check the fluid level.

Brakes are a safety-critical system. If you are unsure about any step, have the work done by a qualified mechanic.

The Case for Doing All Four Corners

Trucks that tow often wear their rear brakes more than people expect. If you renew only the front, the tired rear brakes carry on doing less than their share and the new front parts take the strain. Fitting rotors and pads at both ends restores the balance the truck was designed with. You also deal with the truck being off the road once instead of twice.

Who This Kit Is For

The kit is meant for Ram 1500 owners who maintain their own trucks, small fleets running several 5-lug Rams, and repair shops that prefer a complete axle-to-axle set. Durango and Aspen owners with 2007–2009 vehicles can use it too, once the rotor sizes are confirmed.

Common Questions

Will this fit a 2019 or newer Ram 1500? The supplier lists only the Ram 1500 Classic for 2019–2023. The redesigned truck is not on the chart.

Is it a genuine Mopar kit? No. It is an aftermarket kit, and the parts shown carry VEVOR markings.

Does it fit a Ram 2500? No. The 2500 is not listed.
