This CD pattern MagSafe phone case is an electroplated case for iPhone with three things going on at once: a back that catches the light in rays like the surface of a CD, a magnetic ring around a clear window in the centre, and a camera frame that folds out to become a stand. Choosing the Right Size

- Pro and non-Pro are different. The camera blocks are not the same size, and on this case the camera frame is a moving part, so the match has to be exact.
- Pro Max is its own size. A Pro case will not stretch to a Pro Max.

What It Is Like to Use
The supplier describes a soft, comfortable feel in the hand, protection from dust and scratches, and precise cut-outs for the ports and buttons. From the photos, the back is a hard panel with the radial pattern under a clear surface, set in a shiny coloured frame. The centre window leaves the logo on the back of the phone visible. The lens frame adds a raised border round the cameras, which keeps the glass off the table when the phone is lying on its back.
Using the Lens Stand
- Hook a fingernail under the edge of the camera frame and swing it out until it stops.
- Stand the phone in landscape with the frame behind it, on a flat, hard surface.
- Fold the frame back until it sits flush before putting the phone away.
- Do not lean on the phone while it is standing, and do not use the frame as a carrying loop. It is a small hinge.
Magnets and Charging
With the ring in the case, a magnetic charger or car mount has something to hold. A few practical points. The strength of the hold through any case is a little less than on a bare phone, so test a car mount before trusting it on a rough road. Keep bank cards with magnetic stripes away from the back of the case. And although the supplier's picture states that wireless charging is supported, it gives no power figures, so charging speed will be whatever your phone and charger agree on.
Fitting the Case
Fold the lens frame in before you fit or remove the case, so the hinge is not strained. Seat the camera corner first, then press the other corners on and check that the side buttons click freely.
Care
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Electroplated finishes do not like alcohol, solvents or rough cloths, which can take the shine off. Keep grit out of the lens-frame hinge, and take the case off now and then to clean inside, because dust trapped against the phone causes fine scratches.
