Civic Rear Camber Arm Kit – 2pcs Adjustable Rear Control Camber Arms for Honda Civic 01-05 & Acura RSX 02-06
Civic Rear Camber Arm Kit – Two Adjustable Rear Arms for Honda Civic and Acura RSX
This Civic rear camber arm kit is a pair of adjustable steel arms that replace the fixed upper links at the back of the car, so the rear camber can be set on an alignment rack instead of being left wherever the ride height puts it. The supplier lists the pair for the 2001–2005 Honda Civic, the 2002–2005 Civic Si and the 2002–2006 Acura RSX. Easy Life Markets sells the two arms together, one for each rear wheel.
On these cars the factory rear upper arm is a fixed length. That is fine at standard height. Lower the car and the top of each rear wheel leans inwards, the tyre runs on its inner shoulder, and the alignment shop has nothing to turn to correct it. An adjustable arm solves that by putting a threaded centre section between the two mounting ends. Lengthen or shorten it and the top of the wheel moves out or in. If you want the background, the wheel alignment article explains camber, toe and how they are measured.
What You Receive
- 2 x adjustable rear camber arms
That is the whole package according to the supplier. Mounting bolts, fitting instructions and other rear links are not listed, so plan on reusing the original fasteners if they are in good condition, or buying new ones.
Specifications
- Product type: Adjustable rear camber arms, pair
- Quantity: 2 pieces
- Position: Rear, left and right
- Material: Steel
- Colour: Black
- Adjustment range: +/- 3, as stated by the supplier
- Brand: Unbranded aftermarket parts
- SKU: CJQT284206401AZ
The supplier gives the range as "+/- 3" without a unit. Camber is measured in degrees, but the figure you can reach on your own car depends on how far it has been lowered and on the condition of the other rear suspension parts.
How the Arm Is Built
The product photos show the layout clearly. Each arm has three parts: a bushed end with a metal sleeve and flat mounting tabs, a hexagonal centre body, and a U-shaped bracket at the other end with a bolt hole through both ears. The centre body is threaded onto the two ends and locked with a plated nut on each side. To adjust the arm you slacken both lock nuts, turn the centre body with a spanner, and tighten the nuts again. Because the body turns like a turnbuckle, the length changes without unbolting either end from the car.
Compatibility
The supplier lists this pair for:
- Honda Civic, 2001–2005
- Honda Civic Si, 2002–2005
- Acura RSX, 2002–2006
No reference numbers, body styles or trim levels are given, so we cannot tell you more than the supplier does. Before ordering, please check the following:
- Model year. Confirm it from the plate in the driver's door opening. Other generations of the Civic are not on the supplier's list.
- The shape of your current arm. Look at the rear upper arm on your car and compare the two mounting ends with the photos below: one bushed end with tabs, one U-shaped bracket.
- Length. Measure your original arm between bolt centres. The new arm should adjust to that length with thread to spare in both directions.
- Still unsure? Contact us with your VIN and a photo of the rear arm, and we will help you compare it with the supplier's information.
When Adjustable Rear Arms Are Worth Fitting
- The car sits on lowering springs or coilovers and the rear wheels lean in at the top
- The rear tyres are worn on the inner edge while the rest of the tread looks fine
- An alignment printout shows rear camber out of range, and the shop says it cannot be adjusted
- You want a particular rear camber setting for track or autocross use
- The original arm bushings are cracked and you would rather fit an adjustable replacement
If the car is at standard height, wears its tyres evenly and aligns within specification, these arms will not change much for you.
Fitting and Setting Up
- Before removing anything, set each new arm to the same bolt-centre length as the original. That gets the car close enough to drive to the alignment shop.
- Support the car on stands rated for its weight and do one side at a time.
- Make sure equal thread is engaged at both ends of the centre body. Do not wind an arm out so far that only a few threads are holding.
- Tighten the pivot bolts with the suspension at ride height, not hanging, and use the torque figures in the service manual.
- Have a four-wheel alignment done straight away. Changing rear camber also moves rear toe, and toe is what wears tyres fastest.
- Recheck the lock nuts after the first few hundred kilometres.
Suspension arms are safety-critical. A loose lock nut or a bolt that has not been torqued can let the wheel move under load. If you have not done this kind of work before, have a qualified mechanic fit and align the arms.
Keeping Them in Good Order
Adjustable arms ask for a little attention that fixed ones do not. Look at the lock nuts whenever the wheels are off, keep the exposed threads clean, and wash road salt off them in winter. If you change ride height again, book another alignment.
Who This Pair Suits
It suits owners of lowered Civics and RSXs from the listed years who are tired of replacing rear tyres early, people building a car for track days, and workshops that fit lowering kits and need a way to finish the alignment properly.
Common Questions
Does the Civic rear camber arm kit include front camber parts? No. It is two rear arms only. Front camber on these cars needs separate parts.
Are these genuine Honda or Acura parts? No. They are unbranded aftermarket arms and are not made by Honda or Acura.
Can I adjust them at home? You can turn the adjuster on the car, but you cannot measure camber accurately without alignment equipment. Set the length roughly, then let an alignment shop do the final setting.
