Y3000 Mini Camera with Screen – HD Pocket Camera with Loop Recording

The Y3000 mini camera is a palm-sized black camera in the shape of a small SLR, with a 0.96 inch screen on the back and a loop on the side for a lanyard or clip. It takes photos and video, saves them to a TF card of 8GB to 128GB, and can overwrite its oldest footage when the card fills. Easy Life Markets sells it without a card, or with a 16GB, 32GB, 64GB or 128GB card.

The supplier sells it as an outdoor sports and travel camera. In plain terms, it is a very small camera you can keep on a bag or in a pocket and use for short clips and snapshots on a walk, a ride or a day out. It is not a rugged action camera, and the sections below explain where its limits are.

What Is in the Box

  • 1 × camera
  • 1 × memory card, on the options that include one

That is the packing list the supplier gives. A charging cable, lanyard and manual are not listed in writing, so ask us if you need to know before ordering.

Options

  • Without memory card
  • With 16GB memory card
  • With 32GB memory card
  • With 64GB memory card
  • With 128GB memory card

The body colour is black on every option.

What the Supplier Does Not State

  • Resolution in pixels. The listing says HD and gives no pixel figure for video or photos. We do not add one.
  • Water and shock resistance. None is listed, and no waterproof case is listed. Despite the sports label, keep it dry and do not drop it.
  • Mounts. No helmet, handlebar or chest mount is listed.
  • Wireless connection. No WiFi or Bluetooth is listed.
  • Stabilisation. None is listed.

How Loop Recording Works

With loop recording switched on, the camera records in short files. When the card is full it deletes the oldest file and carries on. You never get a "card full" message in the middle of a ride, and the card always holds the most recent footage. The cost is that old clips are lost unless you copy them off first. Switch loop recording off, if the menu allows, when you are filming something you want to keep from start to finish.

The camera stores everything on a microSD card, which the supplier calls a TF card. They are the same thing. A larger card holds more before the loop starts overwriting.

Which Card Option?

  • No card: Choose this only if you already own a TF card between 8GB and 128GB.
  • 16GB or 32GB: Enough for photos and an afternoon of short clips.
  • 64GB or 128GB: Better if you plan to leave it recording on a loop, or go several days without copying files off.

Battery, not card space, is usually the limit. At about an hour per charge, even the smaller cards hold more than one full battery of video.

Getting Started

  1. Charge the camera fully before the first use.
  2. Insert the TF card and format it from the camera's menu.
  3. Switch on and check the picture on the rear screen.
  4. Pick photo or video mode and press the shutter button to shoot or to start and stop recording.
  5. Try the 8 filters in the menu to see which you like.
  6. Copy files to a computer by cable or with a card reader.

Getting the Most from the Battery

  • A 180 mAh cell is small. Start every outing with a full charge.
  • Record short clips and switch off between them.
  • Carry a power bank and a cable for longer days.
  • Cold weather shortens battery life. Keep the camera in an inside pocket until you need it.

Tips for Better Clips

  • Brace your elbows against your body. A camera this light shakes easily.
  • Film in good light. Small sensors turn grainy in the evening.
  • Keep the sun behind you where you can.
  • Wipe the lens before use. Pocket fluff and fingerprints soften the picture.

Care

Keep the Y3000 away from rain, spray and sand. Do not leave it on a dashboard in the sun. If it will be stored for a long time, charge it every couple of months. Keep the camera and its card away from small children, as both are small enough to swallow.

Who It Suits

Walkers, cyclists and travellers who want a tiny camera for casual clips, students who like the miniature SLR look, and anyone who wants a simple loop-recording camera for short sessions.

Common Questions

Is it waterproof? No water resistance is listed. Treat it as not waterproof.

Can it be used as a dash cam? It has loop recording, but the supplier does not list a car mount or automatic start with the ignition, and the battery lasts about an hour. It is not sold as a dash cam.

How is it different from the other mini cameras you sell? This model has a CMOS sensor, a 180 mAh battery, 8 filters and card support up to 128GB. Compare the specifications on each page.

Is it a branded camera? No. It is an unbranded camera from our supplier.
